Abdullah Al Mamun
PhD student

Abdullah obtained his B.S. from the Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology. Abdullah also worked as a quality control and assurance engineer Midas Safety Inc. Abdullah's current research interests are advanced materials, solid mechanics, energy system

Arjun Sathyan Kulathuvayal
PhD student

Arjun obtained his B.S. and MS in Physics from the Pondicherry University, Puducherry (India). The research activities of Arjun mainly related to condensed matter Physics (CMP), wherein especially the first principle analysis (DFT) and experimental methodologies on materials under extreme circumstances. The research interests are further extended to 2-D thin films and spintronics. Arjun had also worked as an intern in the field of 2D thin films at the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), Trivandrum (India). His Master's specialization is in CMP, and thesis is entitled "Synthesis and characterization of Strontium doped Copper ferrite nanoparticles - DFT & experimental analysis".

Chase Trujillo
Undergraduate researcher

Chase Trujillo is a senior mechanical engineering student at USU. In his free time, Chase enjoys playing basketball, going on hikes, and doing recreational weightlifting. Chase's interests in engineering include material science, aerospace engineering, and solid mechanics. Chase's goal is to work in the field of aerospace designing aircraft..

Team alumni

Caleb Lounsbury
Undergraduate researcher

Caleb is a junior mechanical engineering student at USU. In his free time he enjoys playing soccer, cooking, snowboarding, and camping. Within the engineering world, Caleb is interested in solid mechanics, 3D printing, sustainable energy, and material science. Caleb is eager to combine some of these interests in a research project with significant potential to enhance future technology

Xavier Kipping
Undergraduate researcher

Xavier's interest is in computational Material Science with a focus on materials that can be used in Aerospace applications. Xavier is a new dad and he also plays trombone for the Caine College of the Arts. Xavier's goal is to one day work for NASA.
